When Hope Touched His Robe
Matthew 9: 22 - Jesus turned and saw her “Take heart daughter” he said “your faith has healed you. Matthew 9: 22
She had lived with pain for so long that it became a part of her. Twelve years of bleeding had drained more than blood, it had drained her dignity, her money and her place in society, people avoided her, she walked with her head lowered, carrying silent shame. Yet somewhere deep even through her suffering a tiny spark refused to die- a fragile hope that whispered “ If i can just touch him.”
As she passed through the crowd, fear clung to her trembling steps. She knew she wasn’t welcome among them, not with her condition. But desperation pushed her forward. Her hands stretched out, shaking ,barely brushing the edge of HIS ROBE.
In an instant she knew, the flow, the pain, the heaviness, all gone. Her heart stopped in awe. Joy flooded where helplessness had lived for years. But then HIS voice called “Who touched me?” The crowd paused and her breath froze. She fell at his feet, confessing through trembling tears.
Then he spoke, “Take heart daughter, your faith has healed you”. The words her soul had longed for more than healing. “Daughter” not sinner, not outcast, not unclean – “daughter”. Her body was healed, but HIS voice healed her heart. In his presence, she found more than freedom, she found belonging.
