The Empowerment Through the Resurrection of Christ
By Reethi
The Bible teaches us that in our conversion to Christ, in our new birth, by faith we were spiritually united to Jesus Christ, in His death and resurrection; Romans 6:5, “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.”
In union with the risen Christ, we’re reminded that:
1. We share in Christ’s indestructible life
John 11:25-26, “I am the resurrection and the life……Everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” – An amazing promise of our present and future that gives us a new security, a new confidence of hope in our experiences and lives that gives us a joyful freedom from fear.
2. We receive a new identity
Colossians 3:3-4, “You have died, and your life is hidden with risen Christ in God. “When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” – A glorious promise that assures us of our identity as a child of God and how we’ll manifest with Him in glory.
3. We experience unending help
Matthew 28:20, “And Behold, I am with you always, to the end of age.” – We have a new, living present friend in Jesus and the Holy Spirit, our Helper.
4. We are given the power to live righteously
Romans 6:6-7, “We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.”
Romans 7:4, “….so that you may belong to another, to Him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God.” - A new power for holiness and to be fruitful.
5. We can suffer well with our Saviour
Philippians 3:10, “that I may know Him and the power of his resurrection and may share in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” – We can endure trials knowing that we share a bond with Christ and can let go of the self and become more like Jesus.
So, I pray that we would proclaim passionately about our joyful life in the risen Christ – He is risen and alive today!
